Julio Alonso es empresario, bloguer y consultor estratégico. Es fundador y CEO de Weblogs SL, la empresa de weblogs comerciales más grande de España, y mantiene su blog personal, Merodeando, desde 2003.
Julio es licenciado en Derecho por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid y MBA por la Rotterdam School of Management. Antes de fundar Weblogs SL, en 2004, fue fundador y socio de Intélica Venture Management, y socio de Diamond Cluster International.
Como cuenta en su blog, en la actualidad dedica todo su tiempo al desarrollo de Weblogs SL, empresa que ya cuenta con quince blogs con un tráfico de varios millones de usuarios únicos mensuales, y que también asesora a empresas sobre temas relacionados con los blogs. Con sus palabras:
Empecé a escribir en un blog en noviembre de 2003 con Merodeando por la enredadera. Los temas sobre los que suelo escribir (con menor frecuencia de lo que me gustaría) son: internet, blogs, con especial atencion a los nanomedios, la publicidad online y el blogging corporativo, y la evolución digital (la migración de industrias desde modelos de negocio con base analógica a otros con base digital).
